Value-added viscera ingredients
This invention describes a method and machinery for creating value-added
feed ingredients from viscera streams, including animal organs and bones.
The patent involves a measured flow rate signal for processing incoming
viscera streams. Finished products from the process are shelf stable.
US Patent No. 11,793,215 (Oct. 24, 2023), Kuenzi, J. C. et al., assigned to
Incuvator Fund I, LLC, Sabetha, KS.
Formulating with α-amylase
This patent addresses feed efficiency and animal performance by formulating
diets with microbial α-amylase. For livestock animals, the invention
can be used for weight gain and milk production. The invention is also
applicable to dog and cat food formulations.
US Patent No. 11,793,216 (Oct. 24, 2023), Watson, E. et al., assigned to
Syngenta Participations AG, Basel, CH.
Animal feed with engineered phytases
Agrivida describes a method of leveraging engineered phytase molecules
to improve the thermal stability of feed additives, and make phosphate,
proteins and minerals more bioavailable to the animal. According to the
patent, this can " significantly increase " growth efficiency of the animal and
nutrient uptake from the feed.
US Patent No. 11,805, 792 (Nov. 7, 2023), Raab, R. M. et al., assigned to
Agrivida, Inc., Woburn, MA.
Dual-mixture pet chews
Putting the " long-lasting " in long-lasting chews, this patent highlights the
formulation and production of a dual-mixture pet chew involving an extruded
interior and a coated exterior with specific starch and protein ratios. The
thickness of the interior material is conducive to longer chew times. This is
a continuation of a patent granted June 2019.

Optimized citrus fibers
This patent addresses challenges with producing citrus fibers for use in
food and feed products without impacting their water binding characteristics,
including holding capacity and swelling volume. The invention also
addresses how optimized dry citrus fibers can deliver texture in a finished
product.
